First Fridays: Fiber Art

The Hedge House Museum is proud to participate in First Fridays Plymouth, a new initiative highlighting arts and culture in the Plymouth Bay Cultural District. On the first Friday of every month (May through October) from 5 to 8 PM, we will be open for free mini tours. Each month we will select a theme and curate our display to highlight different types of art in the Plymouth Antiquarian Society’s collections.

This month we will be showcasing fiber art from our historic textile collection, including needlework samplers and crewel embroidery. We’ll also be celebrating our Yarn Pop installation, which features more than 1,000 knit and crocheted flowers made by community members.

Entry into the Hedge House for this special opening will be limited due to COVID-19 occupancy regulations. Upon arrival visitors may be asked to wait outside if necessary. Thank you in advance for your patience and for wearing a mask during your visit.
