First Friday featuring artist Dennis L. Albers

The Plymouth Antiquarian Society is proud to participate in First Fridays Plymouth, an initiative highlighting arts and culture in the Plymouth Bay Cultural District. On the first Friday of every month (May through October) from 5 to 8 PM, one of our historic house museums will be open for free mini tours.

This month local artist Dennis L. Albers will be displaying his work in the Spooner House Museum. Come see new art in historic spaces!

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Dennis L. Albers

Looking for something to occupy his time after retiring and encouraged by his wife’s suggestion, Dennis L. Albers decided to take up painting for a hobby. He enrolled in Deb Birtwell’s painting class in The Pinehills five years ago and has been painting ever since.

It became evident to Dennis that painting buildings came easy to him and so he decided to concentrate his efforts on the many buildings in the Plymouth area. He submitted a painting at the Plymouth Center for the Arts where he took home an honorable mention. He has made various notecards and prints of many of his paintings that he has available.

Dennis continues to hone his craft of painting by taking classes at the Rhode Island School of Design. Having found something he truly enjoys, he will continue to study and work at perfecting his technique.

Entry into this special opening will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the small size of the rooms, visitors may be asked to wait outside until space is available for them to enter. Thank you in advance for your patience!
