Dr. Patrick Browne, Executive Director of the Plymouth Antiquarian Society, will lead a Burial Hill tour titled “The Revolutionary World of the Spooner Family.” Focusing on the family who lived in the Antiquarian Society’s historic Spooner House on North Street at the time of the Revolution, the tour will explore the final resting places of their relatives, friends, business partners, and fellow collaborators in the Revolutionary cause. Through their stories, the tour will illuminate Plymouth’s political landscape and the challenges its citizens faced during the Revolutionary era. Join the group at the very top of the Hill for this one-hour tour.

About the Series
The Burial Hill tour program was originally launched in 2011 by the Plymouth Antiquarian Society, in collaboration with Pilgrim Hall Museum. The two organizations began co-presenting the series in 2016. In 2024 themed history tours will be offered at the ancient burying ground at 1 pm on the first Saturday of each month from February through December. This popular series features local historians who share their expertise on a fascinating range of topics, highlighting art, history, and culture in the open-air museum at the heart of downtown Plymouth. Tours begin at the top of the Hill and last approximately one hour. For the full schedule, click here.
